Academics

  • Priya Bhatia, a student of B.Com bagged the ninth position in the merit list of Himachal Pradesh University scoring 77.5% in the year 2014.

NSS

  • The NSS unit of Govt. Degree College Arki was conferred the National Youth Leadership Program award (second prize) for the session 2016-17. The Program Officer, Dr. Sunil Chauhan and 51 NSS volunteers of the college received the award at the Himachal Pradesh University which included a cash prize of Rs. 35,000/- besides a trophy and a Letter of Appreciation
  • Dr. Sunil Chauhan, NSS Incharge of the College represented the state of Himachal Pradesh at the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas & National Integration Camp organized at Bangalore University w.e.f. 3-01-2017 to 9-01-2017. NSS Volunteers Diksha Thakur and Jai Kishan kalia too participated in the event.
  • Two NSS Volunteers of the College, Harish Thakur and Vinay Kumar participated in the National Integration Camp held at GC Seema w.e.f. 5-6 October, 2017.
  • Meenakshi Kanwar and Harish, students of 5th semester participated in National Adventure Camp w.e.f. 12-09-2018 to 21-09-2018 at Regional Mountaineering Centre, McLeodganj, Dharamshala. This camp was organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
  • Neha Sharma, student of 5th semester participated in Pre-Republic Day Camp held at Vishwa Bharti P.G. College, Sikar, Rajasthan w.e.f. 12-10-2018 to 21-10-2018.
  • Neha Sharma, student of 6th Semester, has participated for the Republic Day Parade to be held on 26th January in front of the President of India.
  • Meenakshi Kanwar, Neha Sharma, Harish Kumar and Saurabh participated in National Integration Camp organised by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi w.e.f 23rd Dec. to 29th Dec 2018. HP University NSS led by Dr. Sunil Chauhan NSS Programme officer GC Arki was awarded best team in this Camp.
  • Dr. Sunil Kumar Chauhan was awarded best Programme officer in this National Integration Camp.

Sports

  • Govt. Degree College Arki won the Silver & Bronze medals at the H.P. University Inter-College Boxing Championship (Men) held at Govt. College, Saraswatinagar, District Shimla. The medals were won by Manish Kumar & Mukesh Panwar.
  • Two athletes of the college, Kumari Manisha & Kumari Shalini, won the Silver Medals for Discuss and Javelin throw respectively at the H.P. University Inter-College Athletic Meet held at Govt. College, Hamirpur.
  • Many athletes of the College got inducted in the H. P. University Team and represented the University at the National Level and brought laurels to the state of Himachal Pradesh in the forms of medals and rankings. A few among them include:
    • Rajesh Kumar and Praveen Kumar were selected for the H.P. University Kho-Kho Team.
    • Kumari Tamanna Pal and Diksha participated in the North-Zone Level at Punjabi University, Patiala and subsequently at the All-India Inter-University Meet at Periyar University. They won the third position and medals in both the competitions.
    • Yamini Paul was selected in H.P. University Basketball Team for the tournament held in Pondicherry.
    • Kumari Shalini was selected for the H.P. University Handball Team which won the second prize in the tournament held in Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Govt. Degree College has hosted three H.P. University Inter- College Championships in the last three years: H.P. University Inter- College Volleyball Championship, H.P. University Inter- College Kho-Kho Championship and H.P. University Inter- College Handball Championship.
  • Three girls of the college, Kumari Disha Thakur, Kumari Harsha Paul and Kumari Meena were selected for the H.P. University team which participated in the North-Zone Handball Competition and won the Gold-Medal. After the North Zone tournament, they participated in the All-India Inter-University level and won the Gold Medal again, thus bringing laurels not only to the University and College but to the state of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Vipin Sharma, student of the college was selected for the BCCI Under-23 Colonel C. K. Naidu Cricket Tournament. Consequent upon his excellent performance in this tournmant, he was also selected for the H. P. Ranji Trophy Team.

Others

  • Govt. Degree College Arki organized a National Seminar on “Issues of E-Waste Management” on 17 December 2016 in collaboration with State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Himachal Pradesh. The College also organized an awareness rally on “E-Waste” which commenced form the College and ended at Arki town.
  • The students of the Music Department won the second and third prize respectively in Group Song (Indian & Western categories) in the H.P. University Inter-College Youth Festival held at Govt. College Dharamshala in October, 2017.
